The settings on your computer monitor can make a major difference in the colors that are displayed. Also, different brands of computers (Apple Mac and PC in particular) use different internal settings for important video attributes. You can use the image charts below to adjust the brightness and contrast on your monitor. You computer also provides software adjustments of a value called gamma. If you are not familiar with the computer operating system, you might want a computer professional to help you adjust the gamma values.

In the charts below, you should be able to see a difference in shading between each block. The square at one end of each chart should be pure black and the other end pure white. Adjust your brighntess and contrast until you can see this range. If you cannot adjust the monitor enough to see the entire range, you will need to adjust the internal gamma setting of your computer.
